Costume

For the main character, the teacher, we wanted him to be wearing smart clothes, e.g. a button up shirt to appear more formal and look like a teacher.

The other character in the sequence is barely seen but is wearing smart, dark clothing and a hat. The character is a security guard so the guard cap shows that.

Props

The props we will use for this title sequence are:

. Torch

. Camera

. PC for the character to interact with

The torch is used during the short scene were we see a security guard, the guard drops the torch we startled by the ghost. The torch shows that the person is a security guard because they often carry around torches especially at night, it could also show that he is patrolling or searching for something.

Setting

The setting for our title sequence will be our school. This fits because the actual title sequence is set in a school. We filmed in our media class rooms because they look very obviously like a class room because there are documents everywhere and posters on the walls. It is also more convenient to film in because we don’t have to move around a lot to get equipment like cameras, tripods etc. Also, if we needed to film during class, our group wouldn’t be in the classroom, so would be free to film in.

We also filmed in the corridor of the art department for a clip of our footage. We used this area because this was the only corridor we could turn down the lights and it had a door in the middle that we could open to show signs of “paranormal behaviour”. We needed this shot to be dark to fit with the rest of the shots we filmed as well as the horror aspect of the title sequence. We wanted it to be the same corridor as the video taken in the media area but because of the darkness and video effects, you couldn’t really tell.

Soundtrack

For the soundtrack for our title sequence we have chosen the instrumental version of the song Death Grips - Guillotine.

We have chosen this because the music is distorted and eerie, we feel it would fit out thriller/horror title sequence.

The music isn't copyrighted and can be used under creative commons.

Typography

These are the typefonts we chose for the film title and credits. People we asked chose these two fonts: http://www.dafont.com/staubiges-vergnugen.font http://www.dafont.com/nervous.font We then decided on the first type to be for the title and the second to be for the credits.

Storyboard

This is the storyboard for our film's title sequence

Film Narrative

This is the narrative theory for our Thiller/ Horror film

Equilibrium:
The teacher works at a school, children have recently been going missing.

Disequilibrium:
The teacher sets up cameras and finds out there is a ghost/demon lurking around the school. He tries to investigate the disappearances.

New Equilibrium:
The teachers life is ruined because he becomes obsessed with the creature. His wife leaves him, he becomes crazy and kills himself.

Film Pitch 2.0

Film pitch 2.0 from charliemead

This is the second version of our film pitch.

From the feedback from the last pitch we decided to change the director, producer and cast for our film. We also changed the budget and added in more details about the plot, title sequence and age rating.

Credits

The credits for our title sequence are:

. Leigh Whannel
. Shawnee Smith
. Production Designer: Aaron Becker
. Visual FX: SPYPOST
. Music: Death Grips
. Sound: Paul Seradarian
. Editor. Kirk M Morri
. Producers: Lark Bernini & Mark Burg
. Writer: Leigh Whannel
. Director: James Wan

We chose these people for our title sequence because they are either the actors we chose or the director we chose. The rest (Aaron Becker, Paul Seradarian etc.) are from films that we are inspired by OR films that our director has worked on, this way they are a more realistic choice. The music is by the band we chose to use for the soundtrack.

Film Title

After we pitched our film to the class we decided to make a questionnaire to help decide on the name of out film.
We asked some people to chose the name they feel fits best or suggest a new name.

1)  Missing [0]
2)  Disturbance [4]
3)  Intrusion [3]
4)  Intercession [1]

If none, then please suggest:
Obsession
Superstition
Disturbia

Most people chose Disturbance, so together we agreed on this title for our film.

Film Pitch

Film pitch 1.0 from charliemead

This is the first draft of the pitch we made for our film and title sequence. We also looked at related films and who will direct, produce and star in our film.

Group

For the title sequence I will be working with Taylor Lyttleton.

We decided that we will work together on everything together (including storyboarding, directing, sound etc.) but I will focus more on Editing and Taylor will focus more on Cinematography
